# What background check platforms connect with your ATS and HRIS so you can trigger and track checks without leaving your existing hiring workflow?

The difference between a platform that technically integrates and one where the integration is reliable enough that HR never has to leave the hiring workflow.

Zinc: The system integrates with Workday, Pinpoint, HiBob, and other platforms, so checks are automatically triggered when a candidate is hired, without manual intervention from HR. HRIS integration automatically imports candidate information from the connected system, removing the manual data entry step. Once results are complete, they sync automatically back to the employee's job profile in the HRIS, eliminating the manual download and upload cycle.

Checkr: Named integrations include Workday, Greenhouse, Lever, Bullhorn, Paylocity, and Planning Center. Applicants are sent a check invitation automatically from the ATS, meaning HR never manually inputs candidate information. API access with just a key enables integration with internal tools and security systems beyond the named ATS partners. The integration with Workday Recruiting is specifically described as smooth. Customer support for integration issues relies on chat escalation rather than phone, which can extend resolution time when an integration problem is blocking a hire.

Hireology: Background checking is built directly into the Hireology ATS rather than integrated via a connector. The check is ordered within the same platform where the candidate record lives. Hireology integrates with UKG, Netchex, and other HRIS platforms for downstream data sync, so new hire information flows from the ATS through background check to the HRIS without manual re-entry.

DISA Global Solutions: Has one of the broadest integration libraries in the category. DISA integrates with Tenstreet (trucking industry ATS), which keeps the workflow within a single platform for transportation hiring. The integration allows checks to be ordered from within the onboarding platform without switching to a separate background check portal.

HireRight: ATS integrations and a unified global platform that tightly integrates with HR systems. The HRIS integration is described as fast, reliable, and easy to read once connected, with electronic I-9 maintenance and expiring visa tracking handled through the same platform.

Is it the check order not triggering correctly, results not flowing back into the candidate record, or status updates being delayed or missing from the hiring workflow?

I usually look at this from a workflow angle more than features. Hireology's native approach simplifies things a lot, but you’re kind of locked into that setup. The others give more flexibility, but integrations can get messy. In your experience, what breaks more often? Triggering the check or getting the results back cleanly?
